The SIM Registration Act has finally been passed this year. The SIM Registration Act requires all users to register their SIMs. Everyone, local and foreign individuals, and corporate entities using SIMs purchased in the Philippines are required to be registered.
Registration will start on December 27, 2022, and the deadline will be on April 26, 2023.
To register, some important information is needed. Please see below:
Full name
Date of Birth
Sex
Address
Type of government ID presented + ID number
Government ID with photo
A declaration that the information presented is true and correct
For companies, the information needed is as follows:
SEC Certificate of Registration or DTI Registration
Board Resolution designating the authorized representative
In the case of other juridical entities, a Special Power of Attorney is needed
As a foreigner residing in the country, you are also required to be registered.
If you are a tourist visiting only, your registered SIM shall only be valid for 30 days and automatically be deactivated upon expiration of the SIM. In order to register, please ensure you have these requirements:
Passport (i.e., copy of the bio-page and pages where the current visa is stamped or shown)
Proof of address in the Philippines (booking in a hotel or other type of accommodation, or in the absence thereof, an affidavit/letter from the owner of the house or residence where such foreign national will stay)
Return ticket to country of origin or to another country indicating date and time of departure from the Philippines
If you are a foreign national with another type of visa, please present:
Passport (i.e., copy of the bio-page and pages where the current visa is stamped or shown) indicating passport number, full name, and nationality
Proof of address in the Philippines (booking in a hotel or other type of accommodation, or in the absence thereof, an affidavit/letter from the owner of the house or residence where such foreign national will stay)
Another pertinent document, whichever is applicable:
- Alien Certificate of Registration Identification Card (ACRI-Card) from the Bureau of Immigration or other types of official ID issued by any other visa-issuing agency
- Alien Employment Permit from the Department of Labor and Employment or - School registration and ID for students
- For Persons of Concern or POCs, the type of travel or admission document validly issued by the Philippine Department of Justice
TO REGISTER:
For GLOBE and DITO Prepaid Users
1. Visit the GLOBE and DITO Registration Site

2. Input your mobile number
3. Enter the OTP you'll receive on your mobile phone number
4. You will be transferred to personal information. Fill in the required information.
5. Take or upload a picture of yourself and your valid ID.
6. Check the tick for the Privacy Notice.
7. Click "Submit" or "Next" to complete
8. You will see the reference number, you may use it for proof of registration.
For GLOBE Postpaid Users
All postpaid users are automatically registered by GLOBE. Information was copied from the users' records.
For SMART Prepaid Users
1. Visit the SMART Registration Site.
2. Input your mobile number
3. Check the tick for the Privacy Notice.
4. Upon receiving OTP in your mobile number, click the “Verify OTP” button.
5. You will be transferred to personal information. Fill in the required information.
6. Take or upload a picture of yourself and your valid ID.
7. Click “Submit” to complete the registration
8. You will see the reference number, you may use it for proof of registration.
For SMART Postpaid Users
Text “YES” to 5858 to confirm your SIM Registration. The company will use your recorded personal information from their data.
You will then receive a confirmation message from Smart confirming your registration
